Jeffrey A. Hanson, 50, of Fargo, ND died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at his home in Fargo. Jeffrey Arthur Hanson was born May 21, 1958, at San Francisco, CA, son of Louise Hanson. He lived all his life in Fargo. He was joined in marriage May 17, 1980, to Kerry Grigsby. He was a generous person, always ready to help anyone who needed it, whether with transportation, or muscle, or advice. We remember him as a curious person. If he saw something interesting, we knew he would research it until he became an authority on it. He would then be happy to explain it all to you. The rectangles of pavement that were being removed and replaced on the highways (until he found it had to do with expansion), how the traffic sensors worked, the dimensions and workings of the huge windmills springing up on farms were all worthy of more investigation. His knowledge of anything electrical, electronic or mechanical was self taught. We’re told that this began at the age of seven or eight when he took clocks or toys apart to see what made them go. Sometimes, there were parts left over when he put them back together. He was a good amateur photographer, experimenting with angles and lighting for just the right shot. He loved anything to do with trains or airplanes and specifically, the Blue Angels. In his last months, his greatest joy was his grandchildren and they miss their beloved “Boompa.” Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Louise Christianson, Fargo, ND; son, Seth Hanson, Hudson, WI; and daughter, Stacey Decker, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kiara and Kaydin Decker and Bella Nelson. He was preceded in death by his step-father. Funeral Service: 2:00pm, Friday, March 20, 2009 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Burial: Mountain Lutheran Cemetery, Mountain, ND.
