Jeffery Lee Cutler, age 67, passed away peacefully in his home on May 20, 2024.
Jeff was born on July 18, 1956, to Lee and Ilean (Bird) Cutler in Fargo, ND. He was the oldest of four children: Paul, Mary, and Brad. He went on to graduate from Fargo North High School where he excelled in football and wrestling, and the University of North Dakota with a degree in banking and finance. Jeff enjoyed a career as a national bank examiner and being the Comptroller of the US Currency. He also proudly headed the project for Quad County Community Action Agency, helping 11 families build their own homes.
Jeff married Lisa (Harlow) and they had three children: Ashley Cutler, Michael Gilmore, and Thomas Cutler; forever proud of his children, "his greatest accomplishments." Together they enjoyed exploring the great outdoors where they would go on many camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking adventures. He had a great love for the sport of rugby and his family attended countless games to cheer him on. Jeff was joyfully "Pop Pop" to his four grandchildren: Levin, Theon, Merek, and Charlotte, loving them greater than he ever imagined possible.
In recent years, Jeff would enjoy a cup of coffee paired with the local newspaper. He took great pride in exploring family genealogy, meticulously tracking the family tree as it related to descendants and where they settle He never shied away from any endeavor as he was clever and full to the brim with knowledge. Jeff was strong-willed (and stubborn at times), but he had an enormous amount of love in his heart for those around him.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Lee Ashley Cutler; grandparents, Joe and Mabel (Ystebo) Bird and Roy and Judith (Lee) Cutler. He is survived by his mother, Ilean Cutler Maetzold; children, Ashley Cutler, Mischael (Nicholas) Gilmore and Thomas Cutler and four grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Dawn) Cutler, Mary Vargo, and Brad (Lee Anne) Cutler; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeffery will be honored by family and friends with a celebration of life at Plymouth Congregational Church, Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to NAMI
