Jeff Ross, 69, of Forada, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Jeffrey Clarke Ross entered this world on September 15, 1949 in Madison, MN, born to Robert and Ruth (Schmidt) Ross. He attended college in Marshall, MN and served in the MN National Guard out of Madison, MN.
Jeff married Judy Tobias on September 22, 1979 in Marietta, MN. He managed Viking Fertilizer in Alexandria, worked for Schwann’s in St. Cloud, and was co-owner of Jeff & Judy’s Bar and Grill in Forada, before going on to manage several other restaurants. He was most recently in maintenance for the Minnewaska Area School District.
Jeff was a life-long cowboy, having shown horses and competing in rodeos his whole life. The last few years he enjoyed having a few head of cattle at his family’s original farm. Jeff loved spending time with his grandchildren, grilling and cooking, fishing, and golfing.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Justin Ross, Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Erika (Jack) Whitmore, Parker, CO; grandchildren, Jack Jr., Chase, Cain, and Cash; sister, Jeanne Sorensen; brother, Dan Ross; brother-in-law, Daryl (Gloria) Tobias; niece, Kristen Tobias; nephews, Deane Tobias, Colby (Amy) Sorensen, Ross (Jill) Sorensen; great-niece, Jayla Sorensen; great-nephews, Dax and Sia Sorensen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Glenwood Elementary School, or Roger Maris Cancer Center.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held from 2-5pm on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Forada Supper Club in Forada, MN.
A second Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be from 2-5pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Marietta Legion in Marietta, MN.
