Jean E. Montgomery Pohl died on September 8th, 2010 at Bethany on 42nd. Jean was born July 4, 1938, to Oliver and Viola Montgomery in Wolf Point, Montana. At the age of 8 years old she contracted polio. She graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1957. Later that year, she married Hans Pohl in Wolf Point, Montana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. They lived in Georgia, Montana and Gonvick, Minnesota. In 1979, they relocated to Germany to be near their sons. They settled in the Fargo area in 1985. In 2008, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center, and in 2010 she moved to Bethany on 42nd for additional nursing assistance. Preceding her in death were her husband in 2002, her parents, and brother-in-law Jim Burt. Survivors include: sons: Howard Pohl (Casandra) of Texas, Steven Pohl (Kimberly) of South Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Sisters: Helen Burt and Lona (Kastor) Simensen of Montana, and their children. At Jean’s request, her body was donated to the School of Medicine, UND, for anatomical study. Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 13th at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Hour of Worship, care of Messiah Lutheran Church, 2010 Elm St. N., Fargo, ND 58102.
