Jana Christian

Jana Christian, 62, of Harwood, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Jana Marie Olson was born June 1, 1945, at Bemidji, Minnesota, daughter of Sigurd and Bertha (Sande) Olson. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1963. Jana married Gary Christian, DVM, February 13, 1965, in Fargo, North Dakota. Jana worked for Gould Battery in St. Paul, MN, for four years and Nordic Needle, where she taught Hardanger embroidery for many years. Most recently, she was employed by Moorhead and West Fargo school districts in the Special Education Department as a para-professional. She served in many capacities at Zion Lutheran Church and in the Harwood Community. She enjoyed collecting strawberries for their lake home on Strawberry Lake. Jana is survived by her husband, Gary, Harwood, ND; her children, Angela (Manuel) Monarrez, East Bethel, MN; Keri Christian, Sacramento, CA; Amy (Ken) Montgomery, Lincoln, NE; siblings, Julie McFarlin, Roseville, MN; Ronnie (Sue) Olson; Roger (Nyla) Olson, all of Moorhead, MN; Mary (Rick) Baumgartner, Isanti, MN; Randy (Vicki) Olson, Hawley, MN; Sue (Larry) Sinsioco, Streamwood, IL; Karen (Frank ) Gaudiane, Henderson, NV; Wendy (Chris) Lange, Sabin, MN; grandchildren, Emma Fay; Trista Monarrez; Garret Carr; and Faith Monarrez. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Olson. Funeral Service: Sunday, December 23, 2007, at 2:00 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church, Harwood, ND. Visitation: Saturday, December 22, 2007, from 3-5 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Saturday, at 5:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
