James Petterson, Sr, 85, of Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
James R. Petterson was born on July 19, 1935 in Walker, MN to RC ‘Pete’ and Leola (Mellon) Petterson. He graduated from Enderlin High School, ND and Jamestown College, Jamestown, ND.
James married Arlene Hauschulz on October 22, 1958.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene; his son, James (Mary) Petterson Jr., McCall, ID; daughter, Jan (Paul) Brosnahan, Winona, MN; sister, Judith (Donald) Mackenzie, Minneapolis, MN; granddaughter, MacKenzie Brosnahan; grandson, Roger Brosnahan; step-grandson, Ian Faurot; step-granddaughter, Laurel Faurot; sisters-in-law, Shirley Nesemeier, Janice Holland (George), Marlys Wahlert, Debra Pettit (Gerald); brothers-in-law, Rodney Hauschulz (Marleen) and Bob Hauschulz (Sharon).
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, R.C. And Leola Petterson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Twila Hauschulz; and brothers-in-law, Lamoin Nesemeier and James Wahlert.
A private memorial service has been held.
