James George Landeis

James George Landeis was born July 29, 1949 in Bismarck, ND to George and Irene (Boehm) Landeis. He was raised on a farm in Oliver County, ND. In 1956 the family moved to Plankinton, SD and in 1957, to Valley City, ND. He attended St. Catherine Grade School and Lincoln School. James greatly enjoyed visits to his grandparent’s farm near Mandan while growing up. He worked on farms as a teenager and young adult, showing strong work ethic and the strength of an ox.

As the oldest of three children, James was a devoted and protective older brother. He was a kind soul, willing to give anyone his last dollar. He loved animals and had a calming effect on them. Jim was a master of pop culture trivia. He could tell you the title, artist, and year of almost any song played on the radio. James was united in marriage to Sally Wilkerson on November 14, 2003.
James died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Sanford Health, in Fargo, ND.

He is survived by his wife, Sally (Wilkerson) Landeis; mother-in-law, Evelyn Wilkerson; sister, Delores Landeis, Bismarck, ND; brother, Mark Landeis (Elizabeth); sister-in-law, Mary Glessing, and brother-in-law, David (Angie) Wilkerson; several nephews, nieces, and great-nieces and great-nephews

James was preceded in death by his father, George; mother, Irene, and nephew, Brandon Tarbell.
