James (Jim) M. Haynes, Jr., Fargo, born October 23, 1949 in Covington, KY died peacefully in Essentia Health on March 5th. He was 68 years old.
Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduating from Holmes High School in 1967. He graduated from basic training as a security policeman.
He was deployed to South Korea and also to Vietnam. He completed his service in 1969 as Airman First Class.
Jim made a career as a mainframe IT software engineer of which the last 20 years he traveled consulting for different companies. He retired in 2015.
He moved to Fargo, ND in April 2017 to be with his significant other.
Jim was a friend to all; there wasn't anybody he couldn't strike up a conversation with. He loved corvettes, owning three at the same time.
He was passionate about music often sharing the history about the artist and the meaning behind the lyrics; a few of his favorites were Leon Russell, Eric Clapton & Bob Seger. He loved golf, enjoying the camaraderie of the game, despite calling himself a "hacker". He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and a lifelong University of Kentucky Wildcats fan.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Aline (Dreyer), and his son, Justin.
He is survived by his significant other, Ann Erdahl; siblings; Penny, Gary (Margie), Terry (Terry), Lenny (Connie), and Tim; daughters; Natalee (Mike) Atkins and Steffanie (Nick) Dadosky; grandchildren; Cailey, Raegan and Alek and a large and loving extended family. He also leaves behind his beloved pets Fergie and Jacks.
A Gathering of Friends to celebrate Jim's life will be held in Fargo to be announced at a later date. Jim will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY.
