James "Jim" DuBay, 85, passed away on November 9, 2023 at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN
Jim was born on October 7, 1938 to Wallace and Marge (Sinclair) DuBay in Minneapolis, MN. He attended school in Minneapolis and Duluth, MN, later moving to Fargo and graduating from Fargo Central High School. He attended NDSU and Dakota Business College in Fargo. Jim served in the Army Reserves.
Jim worked for Hornbachers Northport from 1956-1964, Booth Fisheries from 1964-1967, and Fargo National Bank from 1967-1985.
He enjoyed spending time at his lake cabin on Round Lake in Minnesota and volunteering at Tamarac Wildlife Refuge. He was an avid hockey fan attending many UND and Fargo Force games. Jim also enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Mark) Hamilton, grandson, Logan Hamilton; granddaughter, Lauren Hamilton of Texas; special partner and friend, Cathie Ferguson and her family; brothers, William DuBay, John DuBay, Robert (Char) DuBay; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; special aunt and uncle, Dr. Lou and Kay Erdmann; and sisters-in-law, Sara DuBay and Sandra DuBay.
Memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice House, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or Tamarac Wildlife Refuge.
