James August Breyer, 79, Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Viking Manor Nursing Home under Hospice Care and the presence of immediate family.
Jim was born on February 12, 1936, the son of Ferdinand and Goldie (Plath) Breyer, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Fargo, attended Fargo Central High School and graduated from North Dakota State Agricultural College (NDSU) with a degree in business administration.
Jim married Kay Dell Erickson, September 9, 1961, in Moorhead, MN. He worked for Insurance Services Office (ISO) as a fire risk inspector from 1959 until his retirement in 1994.
Jim and Kay Dell were long time members of First Lutheran Church where he later got involved with Helping Hands group. He liked doing projects with the guys and especially the Thursday breakfasts. Jim enjoyed traveling; first camping with the kids and in-laws and later taking trips with Kay Dell to Grand Marais, MN, Florida, and his favorite, Hawaii. In his spare time, he liked working outdoors and doing woodworking projects and refinishing furniture.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kay Dell; son, Jason of Seattle, WA; son, Chris (Cindy) of Fargo, ND and their children, Gunnar and Dawson; daughter, Andrea (Mark) Millette of Richfield, MN; and brother, Charles (Maybelle) of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ferdinand; mother, Goldie, and sister, Beverly.
