James Borchert

James Fred Borchert, 78, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Innovis Hospital, Fargo. James was born May 7, 1928, in Drake, North Dakota, son of Fred and Hazel (Pemble) Borchert. He was raised in Drake, excelled in football and basketball, and graduated from Drake High School in 1947. Jim married Sylvia Gausemel March 27, 1948, in Drake. They moved to Jamestown, North Dakota, in 1958, and to Fargo, North Dakota in 1967. Jim worked as a manager for Cass Clay Creamery, retiring in 1997. During retirement, he was a volunteer driver for United Blood Services. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. He spent many weekends at Crystal Lake in Minnesota. James is survived by his wife, Sylvia; children, Wanda, Jeff (Lynde) and Mark; daughter-in-law, Susan; all of Fargo, ND; brother, Charles, Surprise, AZ; four grandchildren, Casey (Alyssa), Jenny (Darren) Wright, Cory and Janelle; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Gavin, Jacob and Kale; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard, who died March 1, 2000, and his brother, Ross Borchert. Funeral Service: Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at 11 AM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, March 19, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
