Jackie Napper, 84, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at Bethany on University of Fargo.
Jacqueline Nygard was born February 15, 1932 in Grand Forks, ND to Henry and Jenny (Askvig) Nygard. She grew up in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School in 1950. She attended St. Lukes School of Nursing, from which she graduated in 1952 as a Registered Nurse.
Jackie married Donald Napper on October 4, 1953 in Grafton. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals and clinics during her career. Her greatest accomplishments were her sons, Don Scott and Kevin.
She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo for 45 years and leaves behind many dear friends from the church and beyond.
Jackie is survived by her son, Kevin (Katherine Essrig) Napper, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Emma Napper, Christopher Phelps, and Jenna Phelps; great-grandsons, Matthew and Henry Phelps; niece, Pat Nygard (Olson); and her life-long friend, Pat Gillespie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Don Scott; parents; and brother, Harris Nygard.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or HeartSprings, both in Fargo.
