In loving memory of Jackie Keith Westby - our rock and leader of the band - who passed away February 14th, 2025. Jack was born to Kermit and Genevieve (Haarstad) Westby on September 20th, 1955. He spent his early years in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, attending Pelican Rapids High School, where he was active in basketball and football. Jack met Cindy Velo in high school and they would marry in 1980, beginning a beautiful life together.
The couple settled in Fargo, North Dakota, where they raised their family with love and devotion.
A passionate lover of music, Jack found joy discovering new music and traveling the country attending live concerts. A personal favorite memory was following along the footsteps of The Beatles with his family on the famed Abbey Road in 2013.
Throughout his life Jack enjoyed fishing trips with family and friends. A special highlight was his trip to Alaska two years ago with friends where they stayed with his nephew Darren and family.
Summers at the family lake cabin on Lake Lida were among Jack's happiest memories, where he made sure all friends and family felt welcomed. The 4th of July became a beloved family tradition that has now been lovingly passed down through generations, with nieces and nephews bringing their children to continue the joy.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, Gene and Jerry.
Jack is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Christopher Westby, Marc (Abby) Westby, and Michelle (Chase) Thornton; granddaughter, Charlotte Westby; siblings, Rick (Annette) Westby, Judy McGilvrey, Jane (Stu) Olson, and JoAnn Westby; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack leaves behind a lifetime of photographs and memories, all of which will be cherished for many years to come.
