Ivan Newman, aged 94, passed away on May, 26 2011 after a short illness. Ivan was born in Sawyer, North Dakota. He enjoyed a full and rich life. Ivan grew up on a farm near Minot, North Dakota with 5 brothers and a sister. After graduating from school, he worked in a coal mine as a mule skinner and traveled with a combining crew throughout the Midwest. Ivan became a truck driver for Farmers Union Federated, accumulating over 3 million miles of accident free driving and was named 1977 North Dakota Truck Driver of the Year. He lived in Fargo, ND with his wife Margaret and three sons. After retiring, Ivan moved to Boise, Idaho. Ivan was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret and son Patrick Olson. He is survived by two sons: Michael (Sandra) Olson, Craig (Jeneen) Newman. He also has 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
