Isadora M. Grotting Severeid, 87, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at Elim Care Center. Isadora was born January 19, 1923 near Dazey, ND to Theodore and Inga (Mickelson) Anderson. She attended country school near Dazey and graduated from Dazey High School. Isadora farmed with her husband, Thorstein Bryn, prior to going to nursing school. Isadora worked at Bethany Homes. In 1958, she started Grotting Rest Home. She also operated the New Valley Hotel from 1978 until it burned down in 1990. Isadora married Erling Grotting in 1957. Erling died in 1989. She married Paul Severeid in 1995. Paul died in 2007. Isadora has been a resident of Elim Care Center since 2006. Isadora is survived by three sons; Herman (Karen) Bryn, Argusville, ND, James M. Bryn, Fargo, ND, Erlin John Grotting, Glyndon, MN; four daughters, Judith A. Bryn, Fargo, ND, Erlene (Jack) Davis, Vergus, MN, Marlene (Carey) Ulschmid, Hawley, MN, Elaine (Eian) Glen, Fargo, ND; and three step-children, Michael Grotting, Portland, OR, Sandra Billings, and Marsha (Robert) Waller, Federal Way, WA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren. Isadora was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and her husbands, Thorstein, Erling, and Paul. Visitation: 5-7 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral: 2 PM, Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Elim Care Center Chapel, Fargo, ND. Burial: Dazey Cemetery, Dazey, ND.
