Iris R. Rockwell

Iris Rockwell, 85, of Fargo, ND passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Iris Ruth Rockwell was born September 2, 1928 to Adolf and Pauline Rauch in Biggar Saskatchewan, Canada. The family moved to Winnipeg, Canada where she completed her schooling. She married Steuart William Rockwell on Wednesday, September 7, 1949 in Winnipeg. Jeffrey William was born in Winnipeg. Steuart’s work in Northwest Airlines took them to Alaska where Douglas Murray was born. Then he transferred to Rochester, MN and Robert Charles was born. From there they moved to Grand Forks, ND and Scott Allen was born. In 1969 they moved to Fargo, ND and Steuart worked for Herbst Travel where he eventually opened his own travel agency with Carol Johnson as Rockwell-Johnson Travel. Iris and Steuart enjoyed traveling to many countries. Iris was a homemaker. She liked to cook, sew, and knit. She loved to socialize with family and friends.

Her sister Dorthea Nugent, Winnipeg, and sons Douglas (Kerry), Robert (Linda), and Scott (Maggie) survive Iris. She has seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister, her husband, Steuart, and son, Jeffrey (Erna).
