Irene Joanne Selberg

Irene Joanne Selberg, 88, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN.

Irene was born on February 9, 1930, in Fargo, ND, to Simon and Alice (Ostby) Hjornevik. She graduated from Oak Grove High School and on April 18, 1952, married Ernest Selberg. Irene worked in the offices of Herbst Department Store and was later employed by Dahlgren & Company.

Irene was an avid Minnesota Vikings, Twins and NDSU Bison fan. She had a lifelong love of animals and cared for many cats and dogs over the years.

Irene is survived by her sister, Connie Hjornevik, Fargo; son, Dean Selberg, Fargo; daughter, Brenda (Dale) Palo, Woodinville, WA; grandchildren Sandra (Danny) Tallar, LeeAnn Palo, and Michael Palo, all of WA; and sister-in-law, Ivy Hjornevik, Austin, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernie, sons Bradley and Keith, her parents, and brother Wesley.
