Ione Frances Siedschlag passed peacefully at the age of 91 in her home early Christmas morning.

She was born on February 18, 1931 in Staples, Minnesota and raised in Litchville, North Dakota.

Ione married Leonard Siedschlag in 1951, and the couple moved to Fargo, where they raised three children.

Ione loved gardening, gambling, socializing, dancing, and hosting dinners for her dear neighbors and family.

She graduated from the New York Hair Styling Academy in 1967 and opened her salon at her home in South Fargo. Later she cooked at Elim Nursing Home for 20 years before retiring at the age of 70.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Emil Erickson; sisters, Loraine and Fern Erickson, Vivian Roberg, Doris Middlestead, Donna Elsner, Patricia Schiffner; and granddaughter, Melissa Schauer.

She is survived by her sisters, Evon (Richard) Peterson of Moorhead, Shirley Scellick of Woodruff, South Carolina, Sharon Bauske of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Roy (Henrietta) Erickson of Litchville, ND; daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Schauer of Fargo and Fern (Clay) Cigelske of West Fargo; son, Larry Siedschlag, Marin County, California; grandchildren, Jason Cigelske, Jon and Jeremy Schauer; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Landyn, Dylan, Logan, Ryland and Addison Schauer, Jaxson, Maverick and Charleigh Cigelske; and numerous nieces and nephews.
