Ione Theresa Langseth

Ione Theresa Anstadt was born in Glyndon, MN to Fred and Hilda Anstadt, January 25, 1930. She attended school in Glyndon and graduated from Glyndon High School in 1947. Ione was united in marriage with Gordon Langseth on August 28, 1948 at Glyndon Lutheran Church. They were the proud parents of four children, Roger, Marc, Jon, and Paula.

Ione and Gordon farmed near Amenia, ND and attended church at Herby Lutheran Church in rural Argusville for many years. They were also members at Martins Lutheran Church in Casselton for a few years. Ione was always very active in choir and served as assistant organist and as pianist for Sunday school programs at church. She also served as a Sunday school teacher and sang solos and duets for many church events. Ione also sang in the farm bureau chorus for many years and Sweet Adeline Chorus. She loved singing and playing her piano with an occasional yodel tossed in for fun, especially if she was singing with her kids or grand kids.

After moving to Moorhead, Ione and Gordon joined St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo. She and Gordon were active in choir and gospel singing groups at St. John and truly loved their beautiful church by the park and its incredible people.

Ione loved to watch her children and grandchildren perform at almost anything. She and Gordon attended well over 2000 games, concerts, and plays, to watch their kids and grandkids perform. Ione was always the kids’ biggest cheerleader no matter what they were doing. Ione and Gordon’s life together was all about their family.

Ione’s family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Elim Care Center for the loving care that both she and Gordon received from Elim’s wonderful people. They always treated Mom and Dad like their own parents. Mom and Dad truly loved their caregivers and we always felt that the feeling was mutual.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband Gordon; parents, Fred Anstadt and Hilda Anstadt and brothers, “Pete” Albin and his wife Jean, “Bud” Maurice (Beverly) of Moorhead, and Ronald.

Ione is survived by her sister, Irene (Denis) Leach of Moorhead and her children, Roger (Geri) of Fargo, Marc (Mary) of Fargo, Jon (Dana) of Maui, Hawaii, and Paula of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
