Idella G. Tweed, 91, Fargo, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Idella Dakken was born November 19, 1918, to Gilbert and Ida (Thorson) Dakken near Tolna, North Dakota, in Nelson County, where she grew up and attended country school. On Oct. 17, 1946, she married Lloyd G. Tweed in Fargo. They farmed near Halstad, MN, and in the 1960s began splitting time between the farm and living in Moorhead, MN. They retired in 1990. Lloyd died in 2002. Idella lived in Fargo until entering Bethany Towers assisted living and later Bethany Nursing Home. Idella is survived by two sons, Douglas (Katherine) Tweed, Fargo; Curtis, Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Kermit (Betty) Dakken and Rueben (Doris) Dakken, both Tolna; one granddaughter, Kara, Fargo, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Evelyn Dakken, Myra Schindele, Sally Eyken and Mildred Jacobson. Memorial Service: Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 1:00 PM, in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Chapel, Fargo. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Inurnment: Riverside Mausoleum, Fargo, at a later date.
