Ida Olson Brekke

Ida S. Domier Olson Brekke, 94, of Hoffman, MN (formerly of Fargo, ND) passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Hoffman, MN. Ida S. Domier was born in Portland, ND, to Ludwig and Anna (Jorgenson) Domier on January 31, 1917. Ida attended high school at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo, ND. Ida married Adolph B. Olson in 1937 and they resided in Fargo until moving to California during World War II, where Adolph worked for the war effort. They returned to Fargo to raise their family. Ida worked in retail until her retirement in 1983. Adolph passed away in 1985. In 1987, Ida married Thomas Brekke and they resided in Fargo until his death in 2005. Ida was an avid gardner. Ida is survived by her children, Jerry A. (Paula) Olson, Salida, CO; Kathleen (Richard) Lorch, Alexandria, MN; Ronald D. (Eileen) Olson, Mounds View, MN; step-children, Harlan (Linda) Brekke, Fargo, ND; Shelene (Grant) Boehm, Billings, MT; eight grandchildren, Dan (Melanie) Olson, Kelda Olson, Mike Lorch, Dave Lorch; Steve (Suzanne) Lorch; Bob Lorch, Brian (Lynn) Olson; Brent (Missy) Olson; eight great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and sisters, Leonard, Joseph, Arthur, Clarence, Lawrence, Ella, Agnes and Grace. Funeral Service: Friday, January 27, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour before the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
