Howard Orville Palmer, 90, of Fargo, died on March 4, 2015 at Elim Care Center.
Howard was born June 10, 1924 in Epworth, ND to William A and Helen (Togstad) Palmer. He grew up near Maddock, ND and graduated from Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII and married Ione Meland June 18th, 1950 in Wellsburg, ND.
Over the course of his career, Howard worked for Corwin-Churchill, Farm Motors, Rent or Buy, JI Case, Inco Equipment and Northport Hardware.
Howard enjoyed spending time at Cotton Lake with family. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan who liked traveling and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Ione; children Bruce (Debbie), Boyd (Doris) and Jeanne (Kyle) Krogen; granddaughters Karly (Nathan) Hippe, Jamie (Bryan) Anderson, Kelsey and Kaitlyn Krogen, LeeAnn Palmer; step-grandson, Shane (Tina) Edlund; step-granddaughter, Chastity Young and 4 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Howard is also survived by his brother Dale, Maddock, ND
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert and sister Marion Sylling and grandson Jeremy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Disabled American Veterans, Hospice of the Red River Valley or Alzheimer’s Association.
