Hildred Ingwarda (Ronning) Nelson who was born Feb 6, 1913, in Ryder, ND, to Hans Ronning and Ingeborg Hjelmstad, passed away on Monday, Sept 24, 2007. She will be missed by her friends and her family and especially by her grandchildren who adored their “Grandma Hillie”. She married Alvin Edwin Nelson July 18, 1938, in Sidney, MT. They lived in Minot, ND, and Omaha, NE, before settling in Fargo, after WWII. She and Alvin owned and operated a corner grocery store in north Fargo for a number of years and she was a long term employee at Western Auto in Fargo. Most recently, she was a resident at Eventide Catered Living in Moorhead. Hildred was predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Gerhard and Rudolph Ronning; sister, Lenora Conaway; and by grandson, Steven Nelson. She is survived by children, Kathleen (John) Harris, Minneapolis, MN; Darryl (Lynn) Nelson, Lake Ponto, MN; Carolyn (Ron) Zehren, Horace, ND; Randy (Deanna) Nelson, Minneapolis, MN; and by 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved. In addition, she leaves behind other relatives and good friends. Services will be held at 1pm Thursday, at First Lutheran Church in Fargo ND. Friends may call at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home 215 7th St So, Fargo, from 5pm – 7pm, Wednesday. Further visitation will be held at the First Lutheran Church on Thursday, beginning one hour before the service.
