Henry Highness

Henry G. Highness, 87, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Henry George Highness was born March 8, 1921, in Ft. Ransom, North Dakota, son of Alfred and Emma (Carlblom) Highness. Henry was the second to the youngest of ten children. He grew up and attended schools in Ft. Ransom. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Fargo and worked for Reed Cleaners. Henry married Corrinne Kvalnes on July 12, 1947, in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo. Henry later owned and operated Voque Cleaners in Lisbon, North Dakota, with his wife, Corrinne. They returned to Fargo in 1967. They managed and operated the One Hour Martinizing on 7th Ave. and Broadway in Fargo. Henry retired in 1987. He was a member of the Sons of Norway. He loved to work outside, spend time with his family and help others. Henry is survived by his children, Linda Thompson, Fargo, ND; and David (Karen) Highness, Maple Grove, MN; sister, Francis Kringle, Dubuque, IA; four grandchildren, Heidi (Thompson) Hassler; Bill Thompson; Jonathan Highness; Kristi Highness; and great-grandson, Cye Davis Hassler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrinne; eight brothers and sisters. Funeral Service: Friday, January 2, 2009, at 7:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Friday, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Standing Rock Cemetery, Ft. Ransom, North Dakota.
