Helmuth Herbert “Herb” Huber was born December 18, 1927 at Ashley, ND to Henry and Magdalena (Wahl) Huber. He grew up on the family farm, attended school through 8th grade in a country school, and graduated from Ashley High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in Japan after WWII. He attended NDSU and graduated from Interstate Business College.
He married Phyllis Myhre on June 3, 1950 at Kindred Lutheran Church. They made their home in north Fargo where they raised three children.
Herb worked for Manchester Biscuit which would later become Supreme Bakers and eventually Keebler retiring as District Manager after 30+ years. After retiring he spent winters in Arizona and summers on West McDonald Lake in Vergas, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and following his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Herb was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and FMAGMR.
Herb died July 10, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. He is survived by daughter, Peggy (Curt) Christopherson, Fargo; sons, Douglas (Carole) Huber, Fargo and Jeffrey (Janet) Huber, Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Sara, Allison, Jon, Ben and Jill; and six great-grandchildren, Ava, Isaac, Henry, Annabel, Walter and Christina; and a brother, Eugene (Elsie) Huber, Moorhead.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents; brother, James and an infant sister.
Memorials are preferred to the Anne Carlson School, Peace Lutheran Church or Messiah Lutheran Church’s “Hour of Worship”.
