Helen Jeanette Anderson, 77, was born in Fargo, ND to Chester and Bertha (Yeager) Anderson on March 24, 1939. She grew up in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central in 1957.
On April 15, 1961 she married Clifford Stoddart, Jr. at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. They made their home in Moorhead, MN.
Helen worked in retail for many years, first at SS Kresge in Fargo and Ben Franklin in the Holiday Mall, Moorhead, MN. Before retiring she was employed by MSUM food service in Nemzek Hall. Helen enjoyed making crafts and shared her talent with many, including three generations of nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with friends, trips to area casinos and camping. Helen was a member of Christ the King Church, Moorhead, MN.
Helen fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years. The day before her last birthday she moved to the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN, where she passed away June 9, 2016.
She is survived by sisters, Darlyne Rourke, Fargo, ND and Mavis Hettervig, Hillsboro, ND; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Anderson, Collierville, TN, and Carol Anderson, Florence, CO; sister-in-law, Helen (Jim) Gill, Felton, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Clifford; her parents; brothers, James, Wayne and Kenneth; in-laws, Clifford and Ruby Stoddart; brothers-in-law, Eugene Stoddart, Pat Rourke and Don Hettervig; nephews, Lonnie Anderson and Jason Hettervig and her beloved dogs, Buster, Patches, Hillary and Katie.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am, with the memorial service to follow at 11am, Monday, June 13 at Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead, MN. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Helen's family wants to thank her friends, relatives and staff who came to visit her, bringing treats and caring for her during her illness, as well as Hospice of the Red River Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ the King Church, Moorhead, MN.
