Helen Johnson, 93, of St. Louis Park, MN, (formerly of Fargo, ND), died Sunday, November 25, 2007, at Texas Terrace Care Center, St. Louis Park, MN. Helen Aasta Anderson was born April 19, 1914, in Lodgepole, South Dakota, daughter of Andrew and Gunhild (Homstal) Anderson. She lived on the farm and was educated in the Lodgepole area. On March 29, 1939, Helen married Phillip Stanley Johnson. Phillip and Helen moved to Sisseton, SD, where they farmed and raised their six children. Phillip passed away January 13, 1953. Five years later, Helen and her children moved to Fargo, North Dakota. Over the next 43 years, she raised her children and, subsequently, worked at the Fargo Nursing Home (presently Rosewood on Broadway) and cleaned homes. In 2001, Helen moved to the Texas Terrace Care Center, St. Louis Park, MN. As a young woman, Helen liked to read and memorize poetry and play the piano. While living in Fargo, she was a member at First Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 20 plus years. She enjoyed making a variety of crafts, oil painting and playing canasta with her family. She is survived by three sons, Neil, Jamestown, ND; Paul (Liz); and Gailon (Wanita), all of Fargo, ND; three daughters, Nellene Johnson, Burnsville, MN; Phyllis Percival, Aurora, CO; and Virginia Uttley, St. Louis Park, MN; and a brother, George (Joyce) Anderson, Rapid City, SD; eight grandchildren, Jason Uttley, Tony (Lesley) Uttley, Ryan (Meredith) Johnson, Joy Johnson, Christy (Mark) Jacobson, Douglas Percival, Sheila (Calvin) Crouse, Shelly (Jerry) Viator; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; and a brother, Olaf (Grace) Anderson.
