Heino Behrends

Heino F. Behrends was born July 3, 1920, in Hookseil, Germany. Heino passed away in Fargo, North Dakota, on November 28, 2009, at the age of 89. He left Germany at the age of 15 and sailed on ocean liners until age 25, landing in New York City. He worked at Northern Transit Bus Company and retired from Greyhound Bus in 1982 as a mechanic. He donated his time driving the American Legion buses for the ball teams. Heino is survived by his daughter, Judy (Ron) Fugere, Fargo, ND; grandson, Bryan (Beth) Fugere, Minneapolis, MN; granddaughter, Debra (Jesse) Naze, Hot Springs, SD; and two great-grandchildren, York and Reese. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Wendt) and his father and mother, who are buried in Germany. We will always remember Dad in our thoughts and prayers. A private family burial is planned for a later date.
