Hazel (Fick) Cornforth passed away May 27, 2016 at the age of 92. Hazel was born October 18, 1923 in Litchville, North Dakota, to Paul and Louise (Alber) Fick. She was married in 1945 to Paul Cornforth Sr. They had two children, Paul Jr. who passed away in 2013 and Jackie (Craig) Thompson. Paul Sr. passed away in 1984. She worked at Knight Printing Co. in Fargo and retired at the age of 80.
Hazel loved music, and her white piano was her pride and joy. She would “dance in the corner of the kitchen” so no one would see her. She was well known for her gold shoes.
She moved to Osage, Minnesota in 2009 to be closer to her daughter. She moved to Diamond Willow Assisted Living in 2011 where she resided until her death.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Craig) Thompson Osage, MN; daughter-in-law, Ellen Cornforth, Fargo, ND; brother, Harold (Leone) Fick, Litchville, ND; sister, Pearl (George) Johnson, Valley City, ND; and sister-in-law, Mary (Cornforth), Kanakry, Florida. Hazel had four grandchildren, Megan (Jon) Vetsch, Amanda (Lucas) Steier, Chris Cornforth, all of Fargo, ND and David Cornforth of Chaska, MN. She also had seven great grandchildren, Ryann, Tatum, Griffin, Signe, Anders, Mya and Aria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son, Paul Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth, and Marie, and brothers, Harvey and Duane Fick.
