Hattie Erna Kramer passed away on November 29, 2013 at the Villa Maria care facility in Fargo, ND. She was 104 years old.
Hattie was born March 22, 1909 on the Hoesel farm northeast of New Salem, ND. She was the daughter of Max Sr. and Clara (Roscher) Hoesel. She attended a little country school at Rosebud, ND until the 8th grade.
She married George Kramer on March 13, 1930. They lived on a farm north of New Salem, ND until 1958 when they moved into town. They had 5 children Dolores, Robert, Donald, Carol, and Duane. George and Hattie were married 70 years when George passed away July 11, 2000.
Hattie loved spending time outdoors. She loved to go fishing with George. Even though she often caught the biggest fish, he continued to take her along. Hattie also loved to garden. She had a large garden and loved to can and freeze the produce. She always had extra to give to family and friends. Hattie’s hands were never idle. When she wasn’t outside working, she was inside sewing, crocheting, and even knitting, though knitting was not her favorite. Hattie also enjoyed cooking and playing cards.
Hattie leaves to mourn her death, sons Robert (Marilyn), Donald (Darlene), and Duane; daughter Carol (Joe); 12 grandchildren and their families; 22 great grandchildren and their families; and 9 great- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George; daughter Dolores and son-in-law Wilbur; granddaughter Marlys; great- great granddaughter Lilly; 5 brothers and 7 sisters; and parents Clara and Max.
