Harry Swiontek, 84, of Climax, MN passed away on Saturday afternoon, February 11, 2012 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Fargo with his family at his side. Harry was born April 5, 1927 in Orleans, MN, the son of William and Wilhelmina (Jaszczak) Swiontek. He attended elementary school in Orleans and his high school years at the Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston, MN. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He was an American Legion member for many years. Harry married Celestine Wengeler on July 5, 1954 in Calio, ND. They made their home in Northcote, MN from 1954 to 1970, moving to Climax, MN in 1970. Harry worked for the Great Northern Railway as a depot agent then later for the Burlington Northern Railway as a direct service agent for a total of thirty three years. He retired in 1986. He also owned and operated a television sales and repair shop during his years in Northcote. Harry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed wood working and spent many hours cutting and assembly wood projects that he would give to his family members and others. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Celestine of Climax; three children, Steve (Susan) Swiontek of Devils Lake, ND, Jeff Swiontek of Climax and Adele Swiontek of Climax; three grandchildren Frank (Lisa) Swiontek of Grand Forks, Christine Haus of Fargo and Connor Swiontek of Devils Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Victor. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN. Interment: St. Boniface Cemetery, Calio, ND.
