Harriet Larghe

Harriet Lucille Hanson, the daughter of Ludwig & Nora Hanson was born in Hagger, ND on November 4, 1925. She grew up in West Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School. On January 1, 1944, Harriet married Leslie "Ike" Larghe in Huron, SD. They lived there until Ike entered the service. They moved to Mapleton, ND after his discharge from the service and also lived in West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead, Ottertail and New York Mills, MN. Harriet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, hunting, and playing piano as Ike strummed his guitar entertaining family and friends. She loved to spend time at the lake with her family. She and Ike were avid Harley riders. Harriet always had time for her grandchildren, creating many special memories. Harriet passed away at the age of 85, Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Leslie "Ike", sons, Leslie (Rayla) Larghe, Virgil, SD, Jeff (Julie) Larghe, Perham, MN, daughters, Diane (Chubb) Germolus, Detroit Lakes, MN, Rita (Wayne) Farr, Rapid City, SD, Wendy (Wilt) Soderberg, Hutchinson, MN, and Kari (Kevin) Eide, Osage, MN. Missing her are twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Melvin (Ardelle) Hanson, Columbus, GA and one sister, Helen Larson, Missoula, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Dorothy, Evelyn, Lillian,Gloria and Ida. Her brothers Lloyd, Ralph, William, and Allen and grandson Lance. At Harriet's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family wishes to thank the Sanford CICU and Sanford Palliative Care for their support, guidance and kind words during this difficult time.
