Harold Wilcox, 83, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo.
Harold David Wilcox was born on May 3, 1930 in Wadena, MN to Bruce and E. Leora (Key) Wilcox. He grew up in Wadena and graduated from high school in 1948. He attended North Dakota Agricultural College from 1948-1950, after which he attended Bemidji State Teachers College where he majored in mathematics and vocal music. After receiving his BS Degree from BSTC, he entered into the US Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. In 1972 he received his Masters of Education in Mathematics from Moorhead State University.
Harold married Clarice Fredrickson on August 21, 1956 in Plummer, MN. He was a teacher in public education for 35 years, teaching in Plummer, MN (2 yrs); Elbow Lake, MN (6 yrs); and Fargo, ND(27 yrs), where he taught at Ben Franklin Junior High School until his retirement in 1990. After retiring from teaching, Harold worked at Maintenance Engineering as a computer operator for 9 years. He was also a member and former deacon of First Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clarice; children, Mark (Wanda) Wilcox, West Fargo, ND; Scott (Susan) Wilcox, Metuchen, NJ; and Nancy (Allen) Beto, Moorhead, MN; two grandsons, Eric (Sarah) Wilcox, Las Vegas, NV and Craig Beto, Moorhead, MN; three granddaughters, Kati Wilcox, Fargo, ND; Kerstin and Regina Wilcox, Metuchen, NJ; and three great-grandchildren, Mark, Jaxton, and Juliet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce E. Wilcox, Jr.; infant son, Paul Michael; and infant granddaughter, Theresa Catherine.
