Harold P. Foley, 72, of Fargo, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Harold was born December 30, 1938, the son of Palmer and Borghild (Engerholm) Foley of DeLamere, ND. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Delamere. He graduated from DeLamere High School in 1956. Harold graduated from Valley City State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and from Moorhead State University with a Masters Degree. Harold had a 34 year teaching career in ND. He taught in Almont, Stanton and Steele before beginning a 24 year career teaching in the music department of Agassiz Junior High in Fargo. He retired in 1994. Harold was an active member of Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo, where he directed the Senior Choir for 34 years. He was a member of the Rough Rider Kiwanis, Cass County Retired Teacher, a past director of the FM Ambassador and played trombone in the Big Band All Stars. Harold is survived by his wife of 46 years, Luella (Lou); two children, Michael (Laura) Foley, West Fargo, ND and Melissa (Dan) Rosh, Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Adam Foley and Claire Foley; two sisters, Gloria (Edmund) Mortenson, Malta, MT and Susan (Oliver) Trageton, Breckenridge, MN; three brothers-in-law, Marv, Allen and Larry Mutzenberger and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew and a sister-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Elim Lutheran Church or HeartSpring at Messiah Lutheran. Funeral: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11:00 AM at Elim Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
