Harold A. Anderson, 92, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Elim Home, Fargo. Harold Albert Anderson was born March 18, 1920, in Fargo, North Dakota, son of Albert and Hilma (Running) Anderson. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1938. After high school, he worked for two years as chauffeur, golf caddy and handyman for Mr. Roy Baker taking him to California and Lake of the Woods. Harold operated the Belmont Service Station in south Fargo from 1940 until his service in the US Army from November 1942 until December 1945. He served as a medic with the 689th Field Artillery, 3rd Army under General Patton in France and Germany. After his discharge, he operated the Belmont Service Station in 1946 and 1947. He then worked at the Fargo Glass & Paint Company from 1948, until his retirement in 1982. He married Margaret Rosell on July 7, 1946 at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park, Minnesota. Harold enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing and time spent at the Summer-Stuga on Big Cormorant Lake. He also enjoyed the many whist games with his brothers-in-law and other family and friends. He is survived by his son, Jack, Fargo, ND; and daughter, Lois (Harry) Booth, Pompano Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his parents, Albert and Hilma Anderson; his brother, Carl (Andy) Anderson; and his sisters, Mabel Vandermeer and Beverlee McRae.
