Harlan E. Sittig, age 82, of Fargo, ND, passed away at Essentia Health Hospital on September 21, 2024. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September, 28, from 9 AM to 10 AM, followed by his 10 AM memorial service at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a pet rescue of your choosing or MN Youth Fishing. Burial will be held at a later date.

Harlan Elmer Sittig was born on January 27, 1942, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, to Elmer and Edna (Nussbaum) Sittig. He was baptized in May 1942, in Brandon, SD. He was confirmed on March 30, 1956, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beardsley, MN. On June 24, 1961, Harlan married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Joelyn Lee Klemm.

Harlan's hobbies include fishing, spending time with his family and making the best pancakes in the world for them. He also loved being the Chief of the Beardsley Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Cory Nelson.

Harlan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joelyn Sittig; his 5 beautiful children, Todd (Becky) Sittig, Marty (Carrie) Sittig, Chad (Valrie) Sittig, Kristi (Curt) Kellen and Karla (Ryan) Winandy; 8 wonderful grandkids; and 7 great-grandchildren.
