Gregory Alan Gilbertson

Gregory Alan Gilbertson died January 26, 2024, just short of his 68th birthday. He was born February 20, 1956, in Minot, North Dakota, to Rev. Harvey and Esther Gilbertson. Greg graduated from high school in Monticello, IA, where he excelled in several sports, including football, baseball, and golf. He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, before embarking on a sales career with Hunt-Wesson in Texas, where he could combine his love of food and cooking with his gregarious personality. Greg returned to his Midwestern roots when he moved to Fargo, ND, and then to Minneapolis, MN, transferring his sales skills to auto sales.

Greg always had a big smile and a kind word for whomever he met. He was a life-long Lutheran and so proud of his Norwegian heritage. He never turned down a round of golf and approached life with optimism no matter what. He cheered on the Green Bay Packers his whole life, though in recent years he also became a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his siblings Joanne Whiting, Carol Grimm, and Mark Gilbertson and their families. He loved his nieces and nephews. He will be missed.
