Grant Edward Poyner

Grant E. Poyner was born in Billings, MT on August 21, 1969, to Jess and Pat (Nason) Poyner. He passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home in West Fargo, ND.
Grant graduated from Cavalier (ND) High School in 1987 and attended NDSU and majored in music. He worked at Rosewood on Broadway for several years and enjoyed caring for others. He worked for Network Center Communications for the past 20+ years. Grant married Gwendoline Droz in 1993 and they had two beautiful children, Talon and Teah.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Fargo. Grant served in the US Army National Guard 132nd Quartermaster Company (WS) (Det2) and was a Desert Storm veteran. He enjoyed hunting with his son, watching his daughter grow as a dancer, traveling with his family and was incredibly proud of his children's accomplishments.
He is survived by his children, Talon and Teah Poyner, both of Fargo; mother, Pat (Dennis) Morrison, Cavalier, ND; father, Jess Poyner, Chandler, AZ; sister, Erika (John) Kortes, Cavalier, ND; step-sister, Chris (Jim“Buck”) Hayden; fiancé, Darla Balster, West Fargo; grandmother, Norma Nason, Mountain, ND; nephews, Alex Watson, Bathgate, ND; Cole Hayden, West Fargo, ND; nieces, Summer Schluchter, Fargo; Shanda Hayden, West Fargo, ND; Sunny Schluchter, Grand Forks, ND.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dick Baier and his sister, Kirstin Poyner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Refreshments will be served at the Mountain Community Center following the burial.
