Gordon Saewert

Gordon Saewert, 87, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND Gordon was born on September 16, 1923 in Fargo N.D. to Hilton and Sophie (Becker) Saewert. Gordon married Lorna Lantz September 17, 1944 in Mayville N.D. Following their marriage, Gordon and Lorna farmed in the Lynchburg area for many years. They moved to Fargo and Gordon worked at NDSU as a custodial supervisor from 1966 to 1985. He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, metal detecting and he was an avid baseball fan. Gordon is survived by his wife, Lorna, and children David (Donna) Saewert, Dean (Sherry Mischke) Saewert, Diane (Loren) Staroba, Darla (David) Paulson, and son-in-law Fred Scott; 4 granddaughters, Kristine (Robb), Tracy, LaNell, Megan and 3 great grandchildren, Andrew, Anna and Matthew, and a brother Jim (Sharon) Saewert. He was preceded in death by a daughter Dawn, granddaughter Debbie, his parents and two sisters. Memorial Service: Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00AM at Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes Retirement Living, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
