Gordon E. Johnson, 92, of Fargo passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2010. Gordon was born June 19, 1918, to Gilbert and Lydia in Ray, ND, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945, having been discharged as a Technical Sergeant with the 65th Fighter Wing. In 1946, Gordy married the love of his life, Kay “Leone” Nelson Lundwall. They made their home in Fargo ND and raised five children. Gordy spent most of his working years as a mail carrier in Fargo, where his fellow carriers voted him mail carrier of the year an unprecedented two times. He gave his time in many ways, among them serving as Commander of VFW’s Post 762 and teaching Sunday School at Bethlehem Lutheran. He is survived by his wife, Kay, and his children: Jim (Missy) Lundwall, Poulsbo, WA; Linda (Jerry) Aune of Willmar, MN; Jackie (Don) Lanning of Audubon, MN; Gib (Gwen) of Carefree, AZ; and Betty (Mark) Carlson of Newfolden, MN. They also have 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service: 2:00PM, Friday, November 5, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
