Glenna "Jeanie" Jean Scoby

Glenna "Jeanie" Scoby , 89, of Fargo, ND died peacefully surrounded by family on July 30, 2021 at the Kinder-Care Assisted Living Facility in West Fargo, ND.

Glenna Jean Norrie was born August 6, 1931, in Sabetha, Kansas, daughter of Glen Wesley and Mildred Bernice (Line) Norrie. She graduated from Sabetha High School in 1949.

Jeanie met the love of her life, Donald Scoby, when she was only 13 years old in junior high. Donald and Jeanie were married on June 19, 1956, in Sabetha, Kansas.

Jeanie attended Baker University, Emporia State, Washburn University, Friend's University and graduated from Nebraska State Teacher's College in Peru, Nebraska in 1960. Jeanie also attended Minnesota State University and North Dakota State University for post-graduate studies.

Jeanie was a passionate and motivated educator in many states: Kansas, Texas, Colorado and North Dakota. She retired after 36 years of education in 1990.

Donald and Jeanie were avid members of The American Volkssport Association and were the first ND members to have completed sanctioned walks in all 50 states and 51 capitals. Jeanie was also a lifetime member of DAV Auxillary.

Jeanie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jeanie and Donald also had an exceptional influence and relationship with their grandson Nicholas.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Scoby, Fargo, ND; her daughter Melodye (Kim) Brewster, Moorhead, MN; sister Nancy Norrie; grandson Nicholas (Heidi) Hansen, Fargo, ND; and three great granddaughters Reese, Olivia, and Norrie Ray.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Mildred (Line) Norrie, and sister Gaynall Fangman.

A family memorial will be held in Fargo, ND and an additional (open) memorial will be held in Sabetha, Kansas-date TBD.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Kinder-Care and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care of Jeanie.
