Glenn Rude, 75, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. After a debilitating stroke in 1995 and the recent diagnosis of kidney cancer, he passed peacefully without pain with his wife and daughter at his side. Glenn Harley Rude, son of Henry and Alice Olsen, was born in Saskatchewan, Canada July 24, 1936. Due to his mother's death during childbearing, he was adopted by his aunt, Hattie Olsen Rude and uncle, Oscar Rude. He graduated from Langdon High School and was stationed in Hawaii during his service in the Navy. He married Joyce Ann Gustafson from Osnabrock, North Dakota in 1959. They had one daughter, Jacqueline. Glenn was an electrical contractor and had his own business, Rude Electric in Fargo, North Dakota. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rude, Fargo; daughter, Dr. Jacqueline Osland and son-in-law, Dr. John Osland, Wichita, Kansas; sister, Iris Cornelson, Kelowna, British Columbia; grandchildren, Travis and Hannah Osland at home. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd Olsen, Gordon Olsen, Stuart Olsen, Stanley Rude, Wallace Rude, Lowell Rude and sister, Juanita Rude Gerth. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm at First Lutheran Church in Fargo on Monday, October 31, 2011. A visitation for family and friends will occur one hour before the service at the church.
