“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me: and I give them eternal life.” John 10:27, 28. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015 Glen, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, heard the voice of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ calling, and followed Him into Everlasting Life.
Born on June 15, 1926 to Melvin and Gertrude Gordon, Glen grew up in Grand Forks, N.D., graduating from Central High School. On July 3, 1947 she married Anthony (Tony) Hughes. They moved to Fargo, N.D. to make their new home.
Glen retired from Red Owl Division Offices in 1973 after 20 years of service and went on to have careers in real estate insurance sales. She was also the owner of several small businesses in Fargo, Dilworth, Hillsboro and Grand Forks over her lifetime. Her true passions in life were her family, friends and antiques.
Glen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; and two very special Aunts, Marie and Emma. She is survived by her son, Michael (Lori) Hughes and daughter, Nancy Hughes both of Fargo; grandchildren, Nicholas and Heidi; brother, Raymond Gordon, Grand Forks, N.D.; sisters-in-law, Mae (Shorty) Gordon, Grand Forks, N.D. and Pat Bass, Lewistown, Mt; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express their unending gratitude to the caregivers at Sanford Health ER, 1W, 6S and Palliative Care units, who so lovingly cared for us during Glen's stay there this last week.
