Geraldine Mary Christianson

Geraldine (Mueller) Christianson, 96, of Perham MN died at peace on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Jeri was born to Anthony and Marie (Choinard Desnoyers) Mueller in Kankakee IL on May 26, 1918. After high school and business school education, she held office positions in Kankakee and during WWII supported the war effort by moving to Richland WA where she worked at the DuPont Hanford plant where materials for the atomic bombs ending the war with Japan were manufactured. It was there she met Clayton Stanley Christianson. They married in Helena, MT on June 18, 1945 and returned to live there after the war. The family moved from Helena to Minneapolis, MN in 1958 where she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, to Fargo, ND in 1962 where she worked for Selective Service and the VA pharmacy. Jeri moved to Perham, MN in 1998 where she made many treasured new friends, participated in the Red Hat society, enjoyed water aerobics at PACC, attended St. Stan’s and St. Henry’s Catholic Church.

Preceding Jeri in death are Clayton, her son Gerald, sisters Clarisse, Roselle, Irma, Emalie, and Nathalie, and brothers Leo, James, and her twin Gerald.

She is survived by her daughter Sonja (David) Kosler of Dent, MN, and son Chris W. (Mary) Christianson of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Terri (Michael) Peña of Edmonds, WA, Bjorn (Jessica Nadeau) Christianson and Letta (Josh) Page of Minneapolis, MN; great grandchildren Erin Peña of Katete, Zambia, M. Lloyd Peña of San Diego, CA, Ellie Peña of Bellingham, WA, and Clayton Peña of Edmonds, WA; step-grandchildren Keith (Curtis McKinney) Kosler, Lisa Kosler, Michael (Thue) Kosler, Bryan Kosler, and Cheryl Kosler; step-great grandchildren Spencer, Jade, Michelle, Kaleigh, Gunnar, Aaron, and Gavin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

On Saturday, June 28, 2014 the family will have an interment service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo. Friends and neighbors are invited to attend a Celebration of Life open house at Jeri’s home, 725 6th Ave NE, Perham on Saturday, July 19 from 11 to 1.
