Gerald Poitra

Gerald Roy Poitra, 37, of West Fargo, ND, died January 24th at MeritCare Hospital. Gerald was born November 2, 1970 in Fargo, ND to Gerald A. and Wanda Poitra. He attended school in West Fargo, ND and was active in football, wrestling, and track and field. After graduating from West Fargo High School he made a child hood dream come true when he became a US Marine in 1989. He was awarded many accommodations in his six years of service. After leaving the Marine Corps, he served in the Army Reserves and the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hard work and his family. Gerald leaves behind the joy of his life, his princess, his daughter Mia Faith Poitra. Gerald is survived in death by his parents Gerald and Wanda Poitra, partner Penny Blomberg and her son Jerry Muddock; brothers and sister Debra (Ken) Gruba of McCloud, ND; Jim (Karen) Jensen of West Fargo, ND; John Poitra of Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews: Nicole Gilberts, Lucas and Tyler Jensen, and Annabella Poitra.
