Gerald (Gerry) Wayne Loge, 82, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, February 15, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Gerry was born on the Loge Homestead in Cooperstown, ND on August 15, 1924. His parents were Hans and Christie (Vasfaret) Loge. He spent most of his early years in the Cooperstown area and attended school there. He enlisted in the Army in the spring of 1943, and trained at Camp Hale, in the mountains of Colorado, as a ski trooper with the 10th Mountain Division. The Division ended up serving in the Alpine area of northern Italy. After the war, he returned to Fargo. In 1946, he entered Dakota Business College and later worked for the Manchester Biscuit Company. He worked for five years in the Fargo office, five years as Agency Manager in Duluth, Minnesota, and five years as District Manager in Bemidji, Minnesota. He married Adeline Thue in 1953, and they had one son, Wayne. In 1962, Gerry started the Dyna-Kleen Company in Fargo. He retired in 1996. Gerry enjoyed family, friends, baseball, golfing, bowling, fishing and gardening. Gerry is survived by his wife Adeline; son, Wayne (Olivia Altenburg), Fargo, ND; and grandson, Adam Altenburg, currently serving in the Peace Corps in Maliq, Albania. Gerry also leaves a sister, Delphine (Del) Larson of Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harlowe. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 22, at 2:00PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7PM at the Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
