Gerald "Jerry" Olson

Gerald “Jerry” Olson, 76, of West Fargo, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Jerry was born, November 8, 1939 to Roy and Eda (Ellingson) Olson in Moorhead, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Argusville, ND and graduated High School there.

He served the US Air Force for 3 ½ years. After his discharge, he joined the ND Highway Patrol and worked as a Trooper until his retirement in 1992. Jerry also enjoyed ten years working for Strata Corporation.

Throughout his retirement, he enjoyed helping relatives farm, growing vegetables in the Olson family farm garden, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Carrie (Brian) Sauvageau, West Fargo, ND, Lisa (William) Rustand, Las Vegas, NV and Jason Olson, Washington, D.C.; sisters, Ruth Hagemeister, West Fargo, ND and Janice (Robert) Dahl, White Bear Lake, MN; and three grandchildren, Griffin, Garrett, and Ella.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hubert Olson.

Memorials are preferred to the Osterdalen Cemetery Association.
