Georgia Miriam Bjornstad, Fargo, formerly of Enderlin, ND, died peacefully December 7, 2015 at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.
Georgia was born to Austin and Nettie Marshall in Fremont, NE, March 23, 1919. She married Edward Bjornstad June 26, 1946. Together they made their home in Enderlin, ND and reared seven children.
Georgia was very involved in church, school and community activities. Over the years she taught Sunday School and bible studies, was active in Band and Choir Mothers, PTA, American Legion Auxiliary and served as a 4H Leader. She assisted in the organizing and collection of petition signatures to have the Enderlin swimming pool built, was instrumental in bringing Special Education to the school system and worked with American Field Service to bring foreign exchange students to Enderlin.
In later years, Georgia and her husband liked to travel and visit their children. Many people benefited from her love of quilting; she made hundreds of quilts for her family, friends and several charities. In 1998 they moved to Fargo.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Pinky), Rio Rancho, NM; Stan (Linda), Moorhead; Cliff (Nancy), Fargo; Edie Fisher (Al), Bismarck; Gerry (Loretta), Talent, OR; Don (Sue), Au Sable Forks, NY; Cathy Sly (Tom) , Centreville, VA; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.
