George Schultz, 86, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Bethany on University in Fargo.
George Arthur Schultz was born November 18, 1928 in Grand Forks, ND to Johann and Jacobina (Larson) Schultz. He attended school in Grand Forks and he graduated from Grand Forks Central. In 1946, he enlisted in the US Navy, in which he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, American Theatre, and received a WWII Victory Medal.
George attended business school following his honorable discharge in 1950, after which he moved to Chicago where he finished schooling and became a TV technician control room operator.
In 1955, he met Marlies Wolk in Valley City, ND on a blind date at a movie. They were married 11 months later at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City. It was there that George began his 38 year career with KXJB as a control room engineer. In 1962 they moved to Fargo when the new studio was built in Fargo.
George loved to entertain, and was often dancing and singing when friends were over. He loved to laugh, and enjoyed fishing, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. He was dedicated to his family, who often enjoyed the fruits of his good cooking skills from his time in the Navy. George will be dearly missed by his family who he loved so deeply.
George is survived by his wife of 58 years; three children, Carolyn Perez, Fargo, ND; Joanne (Pat) Kovash, Fargo, ND; George Schultz, Jr., Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Anna (Mike) Rudnick; Carlos Perez; Ramon Perez; Charlotte Kovash; siblings, twin-brother, John (Gladys) Schultz; Dolores Purvis; Ken (Pat) Schultz; Gerald (Pat) Schultz; Victor Schultz; Ronald Bina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jannette.
