George Rohde, 66, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, May 8, 20ll, surrounded by his wife and three children. He was born March 5, 1945, in Fargo, to Lester and Amy (Beisigl) Rohde, where he attended school, graduating from Fargo Central High in 1963. He attended college at the University of North Dakota and after graduating, returned to Fargo with his wife, Beverly (Varberg) Rohde. Along with his wife, he operated Gallery West at West Acres Shopping Center for 25 years, and for the last six years was a driver for a small non-profit, HandiWheels. His great love and documentation of the Northern Prairie and all of its inhabitants was well known to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, and his children: Jill and Ehren Coleman and their son, Max, Christopher and his girlfriend, Jessica Mascotti and Eliana, and Angela and Jeremy Kibler and their son, Jackson. He also leaves sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Gilsdorf, Carole (Dave) Helsten, Donna (Chuck) Smith and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Amy Rohde. Memorial Service: Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at St. John Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
